For the Waynesburg University student newspaper, The Yellow Jacket: Two stories published a year apart that utilize a Likert-style survey. The surveys revealed the majority of students were unaware upon matriculation of a policy that restricted them from living off campus. The first story won first place from the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association's Keystone Press Awards for "Public Service/Enterprise Package" and the second was an SPJ Mark of Excellence Region 4 Finalist in the "General News Reporting (Small) - 1-9,999 Students" category.
